Frequently Asked Questions

Will combustion modified foam (Cal117) burn?
Yes. All polyurethane foam is flammable. Combustion modified foam has an additive in it that only slows the rate of burn.

What are the main differences between foam types?
The two main things that define a foam are its density and IFD. Density is simply how much weight a foam has. It is measured by weighing one cubic foot of foam. The higher a foams density, the better quality it is. The IFD (Indent Force Deflection) is just a measurement of how hard or soft a foam is. The lower the number the softer the foam. You can see the Density and IFD of our foams by opening the material specs PDF file.

Why does foam discolor or "yellow"?
Urethane foams commonly discolor over time due to nitrous oxides in the air. Discoloration will not affect the performance of the foam.

What are JumpPitFoam's standard tolerances?
